A Beginner's Guide to the Keto Diet

Have you ever heard of the Keto Diet? You may have heard it referred to as the "low-carb, high-fat diet, or ketogenic diet. Still not ringing a bell? Don't worry, we've got you covered.

What is the Keto Diet?

Considered a low-carb diet, the Keto Diet focuses on getting the body to a state of Ketosis. Ketosis, the state your body goes to on a low intake of food, causes the body to produce ketones which break down and burn fat in the body.

What Makes it Work?

When eating carbs, the body uses the natural glucose found in carbs as its main source of energy. The reason why the Keto Diet is so successful is that its lowered intake of carbs causes the body to resort to its Ketogenic state.

The Keto Diet isn't a diet of starvation (gross), but just the starvation of carbs that forces your body into its metabolic state in order to burn fat faster.

What are the Do's and Dont's?

We already figured out that eating carbs on this diet is a no-go. But what exactly are we supposed to follow and what are we supposed to follow that is Keto-approved?
