Celebrities are known for some pretty outrageous clothes, movies and stunts. Because their body image is so important to their career, they’ve also engaged in some pretty intense (and potentially dangerous) diet fads like the “baby food diet” or the “cookie diet”. That said, there are some celebrities who have slimmed down with some very sensible weight loss secrets, and with weight loss resources anyone has access to.
Even though these stars have weight loss resources most of us don’t – like access to personal trainers, or personal chefs – the following ladies have lost weight with diet and exercise programs available to anyone. Take a look at what Kim, Christina, and Beyoncé did to help get – and stay – svelte, and consider trying them for yourself:
Kim Kardashian: the Atkins diet
“15 years ago, I tried the Atkins diet with my dad and we both lost weight really quickly,” Kim said. She’s achieved a 56-pound weight loss by eating sensibly; she gets approximately 2000 calories a day and focuses on healthy fats, protein, and green vegetables. She says,, “When you’re breast-feeding, you can’t really starve yourself,” but she’s also shown that you don’t have to.
Christina Aguilera: Eating healthy, laughing, and practicing yoga
Petite Christina (who is only 5’2″ tall) reportedly weighed in at 165 to 170 pounds but has dropped to a svelte 110~ 115 – at least 49 pounds lost. She credits her weight loss to “laughter, happiness, breathing, and I did some yoga,” but also gets plenty of cardio with her kids. Her diet is nutritious, with enough healthy fats and protein. Breakfast is often blueberries, turkey bacon (a healthy alternative to regular), and avocado, with lunch a chicken breast and a bacon-topped salad. For snacks, she likes almond butter topped celery and shrimp cocktails.
Beyoncé: A diet full of lean meat and veggies, lunges and cardio for exercise – and dancing
Beyoncé gave birth to her daughter Blue Ivy last January and has already lost the 57 pounds she gained during her pregnancy – and she said she had to do it within three months after giving birth for her first post-pregnancy show. She credits her success to a strict exercise and diet program and says, “I’m not a person that is actually very thin. I’m a person that has to work at keeping my body in shape.” Her workouts include lunches, cardio, and plenty of lean meat and veggies to lose weight. Plus? Her concerts keep Beyoncé dancing for 2-3 hours, and that certainly keeps the weight off, too.
