Mud runs! Color runs. Full marathons. Obstacle runs. 5k. 10k. Now-a-days there’s a race for everyone! How do you decide which one is best for you? We put together this fun flowchart to help you figure it out.
Fun Run – If you’re just looking for a creative way to get some exercise, a fun run is perfect for you! There are a lot of races out there that are geared to get you active while having a blast. Try races like the Color Run, the Hot Chocolate Run or WIll Run for Beer.
Obstacle Race – Do you like the length of a 5k but want something a little more challenging? Try an Obstacle Race. These races, like the Warrior Dash and the Mud Run, combine a 5K run with obstacles like mud, barbed wire, and fire. These are great for people who like running with teams, but they’re more dangerous than your normal 5K.
5k – A 5k is the perfect race for beginner runners, it’s only 3.1 miles! This run can help gage if you’re ready to train for the bigger races. You can either be really competitive, or have fun with a group of friends. Click here to find a 5k near you!
10k – So you’ve done the 5k and now you want something a little more challenging. 6.2 miles might be just what you’re looking for! Whether you’re an occasional jogger or a serious runner, a 10k is perfect to strive for! You can choose to run fast or jog/walk.
Half – 13.1 miles might seem daunting, but with the proper training it could be well worth it! If you’re looking for a challenge but you don’t have enough training time for a full marathon, this is the perfect option for you! Find the best half for you here.
Full – Prove your running endurance with a full marathon! There’s nothing better than crossing the finish line after completing 26.2 miles. But be prepared to train hard and recover afterwards. So think you’re ready for the challenge? Visit here for a full marathon near you.
