Water makes up almost every cell of the human body. It helps flush out toxins and removes waste products in the body. It is also a carrier of nutrients like minerals, vitamins and glucose to cells. It also has a role in temperature regulation. Water allows the body to release heat when ambient temperature is higher than body temperature. When the body begins to sweat the evaporation of water from the skin surface works to cool the body. As a fitness professional I cannot express the importance of hydration. I recommend to my clients and athletes to drink a minimum of two to three liters of water daily. Of course this amount varies depending on their activity level.
I know personally and I am sure that you can all agree drinking plain boring water isn’t very fun. It’s tasteless and the least bit satisfying. You should never drink juices or sodas to replace water as their high sugar content eventually gets stored in the body as fat. And did you know that artificial sweeteners like aspartame send the same signal to the brain that sugar itself does? I always recommend spicing up water with fruits to add a natural flavor! There are so many options; lemons, mint, strawberry, blueberry, pineapple just to name a few. You can also mix and match the fruit combos. The options are limitless. I once used mason jars and regular water bottles for my flavored water. I use to get seeds in my mouth and when I was drinking fast chunks of berries. This is never fun not to mention a choking hazard. Then one day I stumbled upon THE DEFINE BOTTLE!
